It's not enough to just gather
bits of information
and organize them. I strive to find the balance between users' goals,
business needs, and technical complexity.
I want to find just the right method
of presenting the information. It could be a public website or a private
intranet. A process flowchart, data map
or presentation. A
magazine article, newsletter, book proposal or brochure.
My role on projects is as an information architect, or knowledge
integration specialist. I do the reconnaissance, gather data, analyze
findings, organize information, create the underlying architecture, and
specify the user interface for the finished product. I document how the
user interacts with a document, website or system, and create finished
products that help people and organizations capture and share their
knowledge and experience.
Let's work together to weave stories that articulate
both process and information, while entertaining an audience.
Please contact me if you have any questions about my services or portfolio.

Above: I recently attended an event where a
caricaturist was part of the entertainment. When she saw my incredibly
curly hair, she insisted I visit her booth so she could draw it.
When I meet clients for the first time -- often at a local coffee shop
-- I tell them to just look for the hair, as that's the easiest way to
spot me!

"It has been my
pleasure to work with Lisa as she completely
overhauled our non-profit website, and as we
continue to add additional functionality.
She is resourceful, professional, and easily
maintains her sense of humor. She creates an
environment that is simultaneously enthusiastic
and efficient.
Most importantly, she is articulate about both
process and specific decision parameters. With
us, she interacts with people of varying
sophistication with regards to implementing
technology. I have found that not only does she
work well with other developers, but also even
the most novice decision-maker can feel
comfortable and learn from her."
